Party Animals........

I just returned from an exciting weekend. It was sooooo much fun. I was invited to go to St.George with a few friends and go to Tuachan to two shows. I jumped on the invite and had the time of my life. You put four crazy women together and you get giggles and more giggles and some really tired bellies from laughing our heads off. Let me tell you how it all started. We have been playing cards with some ladies to help our life & our laughter skills. One of the ladies that plays with us has a park model in St. George, and had an itch to go down to check her place out. So she invited us to go with her and catch a few shows. We said you bet only if we can drive you. So my sis Dawn, Rosie Yoder, Darlene Wise Cannon, and I headed for our trip. I took some time off from work and I think I needed to do this. It is good to see how the girls handle things while I am away. I think all went well and so I guess I had so much fun, I might as well do it again sometime. We got to St. George friday night and had a few games of hand & foot before we went to sleep. Got up and went to a session at the temple it was so nice and the temple is beautiful. We shopped and seen some really cool sites. One was a statue in a morturay of an old woman going thru the veil and then coming thru being a young beautiful woman meeting christ it was so touching. I would love to have a picture of this in my home. I will look for one someday. Then that night we went to our first show at Tuachan. It was an opera called Aida, it was so cool the singing and the scenery was fabulous, You just have to go to one at that place to appreciate what I am talking about. I recomend everyone go whenever they can. It is so worth it. Then Sunday we hit two movies. Where it was sunday we decided to go to a church movie called One Good Man. It was really good and so touching. we went to eat lunch and decided to have a marathon movie day and went to another movie, Love Happens. I recommend both of these movies.(really good clean movies!!!) the next day was a lot of fun between card games, and shopping, and site seeing we didn't stop for to much rest. Tuachan again seeing Footloose. WOW!!! you had to be there to see how good these kids are dancing is definetly there best talents and singing too. I was really sad to see our weekend come to an end but had such a good time and was so grateful that I was given this chance to participate in bonding with some good friends and share some culture, laughter, and enjoying in some really good medicine. Thanks girls for all the laughs, and all the good food and good talks and so on, and so on. Can't wait to do it again some time soon. I hope I was a kind enough person that I can be invited again. Love ya party animals!!!!

Autumn - Fall - Fun

I love the Fall time of year, it is the golds and the reds and the smell of things starting to calm down and rest. It is the way we all start to snuggle in a blankie and have a nap, and build a fire in the fireplace and make carmel popcorn, carmel apples, and fudge, and lots of good things to munch on. It is the way we can get together and play games and enjoy each others company and visit for hours and hours...I just had a weekend just doing this. We were invited to go with Dawn and Rachell, and her girls to a condo and have a girls night out. We planned it for the Fall break and so thursday about noon we headed to the canyon to go to Bear Lake. The canyon was so beautiful and I loved the ride there. Then the fun begins having girls the same age. Rachells Katie and Shaunie are both juniors and Shelby and Chelsea are 8th graders and Shaylie is in 6th grade that was the girls and Janiece and I was in the gang too. So the whole party was nine in a really nice condo that gave us plenty of room to laugh and joke around and play games and watch movies and just enjoy each other. It was so fun to hear the girls talk about times when they were little what they could remember, and then listen to them laugh and laugh about how crazy they thought they used to be. They are all really good girls and we had a blast. Thank you so MUCH Dawn for sharing your special time with us we will love the memories that we made...Hope we can do it again...

A great relative of mine...

You won't believe this but I just spent the afternoon with Elder Russell M Ballard. He is a relative of mine. We had a Ballard reunion and my brother decided to ask Elder Ballard to it. He said that he would love to come and see some of his relatives. We weren't sure it was really going to happen, because he is very busy. But it did, and what a wonderful man. He had his wife talk to us and then he talked and told us some stories about our relatives I had never heard about. We share the same great Grandfather. It got to be a little confusing when all the families wanted to get there picture taken with him. But all in all it was a marvelous day. The Fair kept my family from being their and I missed them being able to see this great man. The spirit that he brought to our party was amazing. He and his family are just regular people with the same goals that we have to someday be with those who have gone before us. It will be a day that I will cherish for a long time. Sorry I didn't get a picture of him, I am not that pushy. Anyway just for my records I got to rub shoulders with Apostle Russell M. Ballard today and shake his hand and talk to him just like he was a long lost cousin. WOW!!! I can't believe that really happened. I am proud to be a part of such a good family.....

Box Elder County Fair.....

It is that time of year again and I have to say I love hate it. I love that it is time to show off the projects that the kids have worked so hard at. Show off the talents of many people in the valley and just to get to be together as a community and say Hi. I love that I have had an opportunity to help for the past few years in the exhibit building in the fine arts dept. I get to help with the Afaghan's accept them,do the paper work on them and then present them to the judges. I then get to display them the best that we can. I love that I get to work with my sisters. I started out with Dawn, and I doing this job, them she got moved up the ladder and we recruted D-Ann to help. Either way I get to spend a day with them. I have met and helped with a lot of very nice people that donate there time to the fair. I realize that this is such a small bit of help but it does make me feel good that I can do a tiny bit to help.
I Hate that it is time for summer to be over and I have to go back to work. I hate that my grandkids are growing up so fast and that it will be only a few more years and they will be on there own and who knows where they will be. Life has to move on but some days I hate it. I think I will take back that ugly word Hate and say I just am a little sad instead of hate. I guess I will be Happy and try to forget the sad part. I do love life and want to make everyone around me think that I am a good person and a Happy person so, Here's to another great year at the BOX ELDER COUNTY FAIR. Hope to see you and be able to say HI!!!!!

Thank the good Lord above.....

Thank you thank for answering our prayers. We had a bit of a scare this past week. Our grandaughter (Mckinna) was getting a shot at the Dr. office for school, and her mom said why don't you take a look at this lump that she has on her knee. It isn't hurting but seems to be getting bigger. He looked at it and said, he didn't think it was anything to worry about, but lets get an exray just in case. So they did and then the Dr. called that night and said he didn't like the way the exray looked so let's get a better picture. I need her to get an MRI tomorrow. PANIC!!! That is all I can say we all worried about why the importance and what was it...Your imagination gets the best of you and you have things going wrong that are totally crazy...But we have great news the Dr. report said that it isn't cancer and that if it doesn't hurt we will just keep our eye on it and see if it grows more and then we will decide what to do with it after that. I am very grateful that it turned out to be Okay...I love those grandkids so MUCH!!!!

Need a good laugh???

Well, if you do need a good laugh you need to go to the movie Julie & Julia. It is so funny!!!! I went with my sweet sister Dawn, and we laughed the whole way through it. It was a few of our own comments that got us laughing too...Thanks Dawn for the fun evening. Jim doesn't enjoy going to the movie and I love to, so I have to go any time I get an invite...However I did see a lot of guys there with there wifes. I really didn't see them cracking up with laughter, but I thought how great they were for taking there wives to a movie that was about ladies cooking...Anyway I give this movie a thumbs up from start to finish.

FUN STUFF I HAVE DONE THIS SUMMER

I thought I would make a list of some of the fun stuff that I have had the opportunity to do this fun filled SUMMER.I have enjoyed going to lots of ballgames and watching some amazing grandkids do there thing, I have gone to a Play at the Hale Theatre in Salt Lake City, it was Hello Dolly and was so great. I had never seen that play before. I went to my reunion at Hyrum Park and had a great time visiting and getting re aquanted with my relatives. I got to go to Lagoon 2 times and plan to go again in the fall. I have played with the grandkids as much as possible. I went to the movie with some good friends and lunch also. I however have not done anything with my husband and I have missed that. We usually go for a week somewhere taking our trailer and we didn't get that done. I spent a weekend with Chad and Wanda's family and enjoyed those boys. I think I have had a good summer and feel lucky that I have had so much FUN!!!! Oh I forgot one more thing I went to a Raptor's game to watch Isaac be the bat boy. He got picked and had a lot of fun doing that.... WOW WHAT A BUSY LADY I HAVE BEEN....

Hot Dang Summer in the city!!!

This is a saying my sister say's it is usely when we are playing cards and she gets a really good hand. It is alot of fun to be with my sisters and friends and playing cards. We have started getting together as much as we can. It gives a good excuse to laugh and visit and just have a good time. I am so luckey to have such a great support group out there. I really don't know what I am going to do when I have to go back to school. I have had a really fun summer. I have tried to do something fun everyday. I think I will have fun withdrawls. I guess I will have to make going to work fun then. Because it is so good for us all to laugh at least 20 to 30 times a day. I need to be around happy people to keep my own self happy. I hope I can be that kind of person, so people like to be around me. It somedays is harder than others. I just need to look out there and see that there are so many things to be grateful for and start smileing about that.

Where have all the BRAIN cells gone??????

I just wanted to jot a few thoughts down while I still have a tiny bit of memory left. I get so much on my mind and then it seems like I shut down. I need to learn to take care of one thing first and then move on to the next important matter. I have a few Rx's that I take everyday. I went to pick them up at the pharmacy and was blown away at what they said I owed. Wait a minute something is wrong. I have insurance. Well I had received a letter a month or so ago from a company that was taking over our Rx's. I didn't pay any attention at what they wanted me to do. It is a process that has to be taken care of imediatelly. Now what do I do. I think I need a personal secretary. I guess I have to slow down from my playing and take care of business. (Boo Ho)I have been having so much fun with the grandkids, that I don't have time to take care of my needs. Last week it was Idaho Falls for another tournament. WoW was it hot!! No matter if they win or loose we still have fun being together and cheering them on. I guess I still have that cheerleading blood in me because I don't want to miss a game. Sorry kids, your granny is crazy about you all....I can see improvments in some and determination in others and just plain why do I have to be hear in others. Is it a good process?? I feel that learning a skill like softball, is a great way to keep your body in shape and learn the game of playing as a team. We have a long way to go in some areas, but others are coming right along. Not that I am a pro at any of it. But I have been at the ball park a few hours in my life. A team is a group of girls or boys that want the same thing to be the best that each of them can be. It is hard when some want this and others don't. We are all at different levels and when you play with others that don't want to improve every game then it is time to move on. Parents have to look out for the best interest of there own children. I realize that it is just a game but in the big picture it is a life learning experience. Help those around you to be better, and if they don't want to be better then go to the next step that will be the best for you. We have to follow our instincts and look out for what is best for me. This life is a positive experience, and if we aren't putting positive effort in something then get moving to another adventure. Don't stay there and let others bring you down. I am not sure what I am getting at, but I feel like I need to put my feelings down so I can move on. I hope my grandkids can always learn how to be the best that they can be. They all have amazeing talents and sometimes others can see there talents better than they can see them themselves. Learn to listen to what others are saying and at least give it a try. Don't put walls up on your ability to improve. We have to be able to move forward to be the best that we can be.....So heres to the Brain cells that tell me to never give up and keep trying to be a better me.....I will do this and hope it works.........

Take me out to the BALLGAME

This past weekend we had an adventure with Janieces family. The kids had ball tournaments in Montperlier and Sada Springs so we took the trailer and parked it at Mont. then commuted to and fro to Soda. It was so much fun to watch the kids play so hard and try there best. Shelby is the oldest on her team and she tries so hard to get the girls going. She is an awesome player and quite a dare devil on stealing the bases. She slides like a pro and tries to get the girls to throw it back to the base and then she goes for the nest base. Both games on thursday she was scoring just that way. The fields were not taken very good care of and they had not even worked up the field so the gravel that was on the in field was like cement. Needless to say Shelby got some good scraps on her elbows and her knees. They won two games and they looked pretty good. Shaylie has improved so much this year. She has been trying to get the coach to let her play in field because that is more action. Well he finally gave her a chance and boy did she prove herself. She played awesome. They put her on first and I was very nervous for her but she proved to us all she can do it and she loved it. She even got a double play. Then she really smacked the ball good. Over all the girls didn't do as good as they would have liked to, but I could really see that they were proveing to themselves that they are improveing. That is what it is all about, just keep trying to get better. Mick, we only got to see him play one game and they ended up going into overtime and there team won. They are just starting and they have a lot to learn, but from the first of the year to now, I can see a whole lot of improveing. Mick is a very good player and backs things up so good. He gets to pitch and he does a great job doing that too. I hope next time I can see some more of Micks. Well that was all about the games, now about the fun we had in the trailer. We had 7 sleeping and so it was wall to wall people and we had a ball the kids played night games, and laughed and giggled a lot. I love to just watch the kids and how they are growing up. We took Isaac with us he didn't have a game and he wanted to just give his support. He went with Mick to his game and there was a compitetion on throwing the baseball. He won a new ball bag it was really cool. He has a good arm and great aim. After saturday morning both teams lost, so that put us out. We decided to go by Lava on the way home and let the kids swim. WoW you wouldn't have believed how many people were there at the pool. we went anyway and it was fun. Sometimes you just have to join right in and not worry about all the crowd. They just want to have the same fun that we do.....I really love my family and love that we can spend time together and I thank them from the bottom of my heart that they let me join in with them in having fun. Thank you Thank you for the good time!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes and I almost forgot Jim went with us. We made it sound like we really couldn't do it with out his help and it worked. It was fun to have him see the kids play and he had some good advice for them. Just play for yourself and do your best. Don't worry what the others are doing as long as you work on improveing you that is all that matters. However he got really worried about his lawn and couldn't wait to get back to it, to get it watered. He does such a good job with his grass and has a lot of pride in how it looks. I guess you can't have everything. That is what it takes to have a nice lawn is be there to water it. We had a great ballgame weekend and we are looking forward to the next one. Remember kids we are so proud of you and as long as you are trying your hardest it will be fun!!!!!!

We are prepareing for our annual Coombs reunion and we have decided to have a Stay cation. That's right a Staycation. It is where you get together with your loved ones and play games and camp out and play in the water and visit and oh yes eat alot of food. But instead of going to far away we are camping out in Janiece and Scott's back yard. I think it going to be fun if we can get everybody to stay there instead of creeping back home for somthing. I will have to blog about it soon. So here's to STAYCATION!!!!!! hope it is fun!!!

What lesson do we need to LEARN......

I have a need to write about a family personal trial that we are going through again. So this is just for my own journaling. I hope to look back on it some day and say I know why We all had to go through that again. We have a family member that struggles with addiction. It is such a wicked disease. It is surely Satan at high speed. He gets in your head and turns the on button to full throttle. I can only tell you these things from hearing it through my listening ear. The trial started many many years ago and it has had a tight grip on him for that long. He has had much schooling on how to deal with this and many hours and months of being locked up to give him the time to think it through and still it sneaks back into his life, even when he knows how horrible it makes him feel for doing it, the power is over whelming. We can only sit back and pray for him and try to give him encouragment. We have told him he has to turn it over to the Lord and he will be the best help he could find at this point. He has totally done that this time and we have seen much humilaty in him. You can't imagine what makes a person do the things that they do. I feel that I had taught him correct principles and he knew how to pray and he had a good job. But that is never enough. This power is stronger and more powerful than any of us can fatham. He has asked for forgivness and has given us the message that he will never do this again. What would our Savior do would he keep forgiving him. I think he would and so we will again. How do you help your own when it gets so bad. I have read many books and been to classes and feel we have tried our best. We have turned it over to the Lord and feel that is the only way to get through this trial again. It is given us a new understanding and compassion to those who fall into this pit of addiction. Keeping your self positive in a place that is nothing but a dead space. I am so proud that he can keep going and we pray that he will continue to stay positive and get this behind him and be able to come back and prove to everyone including himself the great person he really is. We are all looking so forward to that day. This life is truely the test, and many of us have different tests we have to go through. What is your test? I ask myself that all the time, am I passing or failing? Do we truely know when we will have to have a trial that we need the help of our Heavenly Father to carry us when it gets so bad we can't make it without him. I feel like if it wasn't this test, it would have been another one so I am proud that we have a loving family that stands together in this trial and helps each other stay strong and keep our heads held high. We only have to please our Heavenly Father and no one else.I hope I haven't said to much about our troubles and my family is upset about me putting this on my Blog, but I really only have this to keep my records on so. Heres to A BIG TRIAL.......This Life is the TEST....

I am so gratedul for there example to me. We got up early today and made it to the 7:oo a.m. session. IT was very nice to have the day start out that way. I had many names I wanted to put on the prayer roll and it makes you feel like the blessing are following you home as you leave. Ballgames and more ballgames

On friday I went with Janiece and SHelby to a tournament for a team that had invited SHelby to come and play with them. They were short a player and so they asked her to help out. She was very excited, because these girls were all older and so it made her step up to the plate and see if she could play with the big girls. She did a great job. SHe was a little nervous at first but then after the first time up to bat she did an awesome job. Way to go Shelby I had a great time with you and Love to watch you improve each time you play. Keep up the good work and remember I am your #1 fan. Then on Saturday I went with Dawn to Logan and we watched Isaac and Tyson play in the rain. I can't believe it they love baseball so much it doesn't matter to them if it is raining. They won there first game and then started there second they had a little bit more of a challenge. They were behind and then they tied it up in the last inning. they had a runner on third and 2 outs. If they didn't score it would have gone into overtime. The runner was Taylor and he is so fast he got the chance to steal and they overthrew it and he scored. WOW!!! It was exciting. Way to go Isaac. You guys are awesome and I love to watch you. TAKE me Out To tHe bAllGaMe!!!!

Summer is here!!!!!

It is great that school is out and summer is here. I look forward to this time every year. I do want to be productive, but it is usually a thought and never gets done. I have plans to paint the wash room and organize the basement. It sounds like a simple job, so we will see how many fun things get in the way of work. I feel that I am going to have to start slowing up a bit. I can't multi task anymore I have a hard time doing more than one job at a time. What has happened to me? I get frustrated and then it is even worse. I haven't got any official plans for trips, but I do hope that Jim and I can get away for a few days. We have never been ones to makes plans for trips so this is not easy for us. We have always worked and worked. Jim you need to take some days off so we can see if we can have some fun. If we can figure out what that is. Well heres to all the Summer Fun Buzz. I hope you all have as much fun as you can fit in. Just remember Laughter Prolongs Life!!! so Laugh a lot and enjoy who you are with for what ever you are doing that day. Summer is GREAT!!!!

MEMORIAL dAY

Today is Memorial day and it is a wonderful day to remember our loved ones that have left us for a while. We are very lucky to be so close to the cemeteries. Our folks are in Bothwell and Tremonton. Since my dad died in 1983 I have taken it upon myself to make sure his headstone is clean and shiney. So we did this a few days ago and I thought it looked great with all the scrubing and polishing. I have also liked to buy some cute little wind mill type ornaments and so I found a fish this year and some flowers for the mom's. The cemetery looked so beautiful and the fresh new rain storm even made it look even better. A big Thank you to those how take care of the cemetery and make sure it looks so nice on this special day. I used to think we needed to have a picnic on this day to make it be some fun along with the visits to the graves. I have learned through out the years that it doesn't matter as long as you remember those who have gone ahead of us. I Love my Mom's and Dad's so much and miss them alot! But I am so grateful that they are in heaven working hard to prepare things for the rest of us to come be with them someday. We have relatives in Logan,Smithfield, and Bear River City. I don't know if we will make it to all of them but we are thinking about them all today. I love this day and find Joy in the remberances.

Service

It is Sunday the 24th and we have had a treat that doesn't happen to often. The Newman family was able to have Sunday dinner with us. They have a Newman tradition that they always eat Sunday dinner with the Newman family and I have been complying with this for alot of years it is a great tradition other than the other side of the family misses out. I was Happy that I had a turn to have them to dinner and I want them to know that they are welcome anytime that the Newmans take a break. I love to have company and it is great to have the bigger kids because they always help clean up so good and that makes it nice for Grandma. I should have company every sunday and try to have different families each week even some in our ward family. Maybe I will get with it and start somthing like that. Or maybe I will just be my old lazy self and do it when I feel like it. What do you think it will be? Anyway Thanks for coming and thanks for the help cleaning up. Grandma and Grandpa Love you all so MUCH!!!!

Mothers Day

I have always loved Mothers Day from the time I was a little girl to now. I loved treating my Mom with special things and giving her the attention that I felt she deserved. I remember fixing her breakfast in bed and thinking I was pretty great that I could be so big to accomplish this. When I got older I used to fix her dinner and try to not have her work at all. I think that is were I learned that service makes you feel so good about yourself. When I became a mother I always loved having my own kids do little acts of kindness that they had thought up. From going out in the yard, or the neighbors yard and picking me some flowers to rubbing my feet or just being helpful in all kinds of ways. This is a great memory for me I love to hear about ways that the little ones try to give of themselves. I ran into a letter that I had saved from one of my kids and it was priceless. Those little things mean so much. I Love you goes along way! We need to teach our kids to say this more often, and mean it. We have tried to do this more often in our family. I love that my grand kids tell me that all the time. They never leave my house without saying I Love you grandma. That is so awesome and it just sends chills up my spine to think about how much I love these grandkids, they mean the wolrd to me and I would fight for any of them. Which I have been known to do that a time or too. This has given me a name of "Rocky", need I say anymore. I do have to remember how old I am and try to act my age. I had a great Mothers day and I thank my family for the memories that they give me.

I do have to say that this Mother's Day is a first for me and Jim. It is the first time that we have celebrated it without our Mothers. It is bitter sweet. So Happy that they are where they are but so sad that we can't just talk to them and give them hugs and kisses. Forever your mom and forever in our hearts you will be. We Love you Moms and miss you so much!!! We will survive and we will continue to have Mothers Day's, but we always remember how much we have loved you for all that you both have done for us. Great Examples and great women to follow in there foot steps. Happy Mothers Day to the Best Moms in the World!!!!!!

Baseball weekend

Well it is affically baseball season and it has been cold so I haven't watched to many games yet. So I volunteered to take Isaac to his Pocatello weekend. I really wanted a day off work so this was a good excuse for me to help Jamie out. We got off early friday morning and we went with Dawn and Tyson. The boys put in a favorite movie and Dawn and I got caught up on a few bits and pieces of the world affairs. You know how good it feels to solve everyones problems. We got to the park and the boys were a bit late so they really had to book it to the field we got there shortly after and apparently the coaches gave the boys a few choice words so my advice for parents. Never get your kids to there games late, it starts the day off on the wrong foot. We just couldn't get the swing of the game that day the boys played like they were all on the outs with each other. After the games that day we went to take the boys for a sandwich, then to get there moms a mothers day present. It was a delight to watch them think about there moms and pick just the right thing for there moms. We got the hotel room and the boys were ready to play with there buddies and relax. The next day was better for games they ended up winning both games and so it was a better day. I am grateful that I have such gifted grandkids that love to play ball and that they like to have there grandma tag along with them. Thanks Isaac for the good weekend and for the good ballgames that you played your best. That is all any of us ask, is that you give it your very best. You are very talented and so your very best is really fun to watch. Keep up the good work and Grandma can't wait to see another game. Hopefully real soon.....Heres to a ballgame weekend!!!!!!!

The M.S. WALK

What a great day and a great cause!!!! My sister has M.S. and she is fighting it valiantlly. We(a group of her fans) participated in a walk for the cure today. It was pouring when we first got there and so we were all ready for the long haul with paunchos and rain gear. Thinking it was going to be a horrible ordeal they started the race. You wouldn't have believed it, just as we started to go the rains quit. It was amazing. The walk was so beautiful and the special people that were there for D-Ann was so proud to do this for her. We hope and pray that they will continue to progress in the fight for the cure. We applaud all who participated and feel very proud to have been a small portion of some help in the fight. Thank you for the opportunity and thank you to my sister for putting up with and fighting so hard to endure this desease. We all Love you very much and pray for you to keep fighting!!!!

SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!

Wow!!! It is wonderful that the sun came to visit today. I have to tell my comment girls that you are right, I did need some sunshine it is amazing how much better you feel when the sun is out and the world is green and beautiful. I went to watch my grandson Isaac this morning and he had some exciting games. It was up to Malad, and they won both of them. Isaac you played so awesome!!! Now we are going to watch Mick play in Tremonton. It is Mick's first time on his new team. They are called the Bear River Cubs. He has been out for a few days recuperating from getting his tonsils out. So I think it will take him a few more games to get into it. He looked so great in his new uniform and he felt like a million. Thanks to all the coaches that put forth so much of there time to help these little guys learn the game and perfect there skills. It is so much fun to watch, and I love being a grandma of boys that love the game of BASEBALL!!!! My Shelby went with me to the game up to Malad and I am not sure if it is her cousin Isaac or the whole team of BOYS she loves to go watch. Thanks Shelby for your support. I Love to take you with me when ever I can get you. You are the BEST!!! So here's to the SUN!!! please visit again soon, and stay for a few days......

Energy!!!

Where did all my energy go? I have been on such a high trying to get our house back in order and now that it is done, I can't seem to get moving again. I still have to keep things up and I am not dong that very good. I love having a clean house and everything in it's place.(I'm not there yet but want to be)So while we were in the big mess I worked non stop,to try to get things back together. It looks so nice and I love it I just have to find some more energy to keep things looking nice. Anybody got some secrets they want to share with this tired old lady? I guess the saying of a womens work is never done is so true. I seem to have lost the juice in my drive so I need a recharge. Maybe I am just getting (I can't believe I am going to say this)OLD!! I don't want to be getting old but I feel it is happening.

What an elite Lady

Bonnie Coombs my mother-in-law passed away on March 11, She died in her sleep and was welcomed home by her sweet husband and 2 sons. Plus other loved ones that were there to greet her arrival. I can't say enough about this wonderful lady. I loved her dearly. She and I had a great relationship I could talk to her for hours. She always wanted to hear what was going on with you and had good to say about all my family. She loved life and loved people. She tried to have fun what ever she was doing. She loved to play games and was a great sport about us telling her how to play different kinds of games. She had a contagious laugh and always had a smile on her face. We are all going to miss her so much and just so you know the joke about every ones mother-in-laws. I could never understand what the big joke was, because I had a wonderful one. We Love you grandma Bonnie, and hope you are dancing with your sweetheart. So until we meet again, we will hold our memories deep in our hearts. Heres to Bonnie Cornum Coombs our elect Lady!!!!

How many does it take to get Shaunie ready for the PROM?

I was invited to attend the weekend of Shaunie going to Caseys prom. Casey is a friend of Shaunies. He lives in Fayette and he goes to Gunnison High. He asked if Janiece would agree to bring Shaunie down to his prom. WE decided to make it a girls night out and have some fun with it all. You take getting together with girls, shopping, and dolling our little princess up, and you have got some major fun going on. We made it a memory that we all will remember. Shaunie looked like an angel and her fan club had a blast watching it all happen. Thanks for letting G-ma share in the fun. I love to be around my crazy little girls, and laugh with them and be a teenager again. It makes me feel young again. You are all the best medicine!!!!!

SURPRISE!!!!

When I got home from my trip I had a wonderful surprise Jim and Chad had decided to make my closet into a walk in closet while knocking out a wall in between the closet and a closet in the Living room. I had been dreaming about this for a long time and we had always wanted to do this but didn't think we could handle all the work. Well Chad and Jim thought I deserved to have it done and they took the plunge. It was so fun to walk in the house and see what they had started. It was a big undertaking and I couldn't have been more appreciative. I will never forget the feeling I had walking in the house and feeling the Love that they had shown me by starting somthing that I had wanted to have happen for a long time. Thanks guys, I Love you for thinking about me so much. You both are the BEST!!!!!

California Sun

Well I had a wonderful time visiting California, The sun was absolutly delightful. I have 5 sisters and we are very close, we enjoy being around each other and try to visit each other when ever we can. Sherrie is the oldest of the sisters and she and her husband have been snowbirding in California for a few years. My sister Margo has just returned home from a mission in Somoa, so Margo had not seen my sister Sherrie since she had returned. She was anxious to see her. So they planned a trip and invited my other sister Dawnm to go also. She has just lost her husband, and was excited to go but didn't want to be the thrid wheel so she asked about seeing if I could take some time off to go also. I jumped at the chance. I was really hating winter and was excited to have some sunshine. We started out staying the first night in St. George and then headed to Las Angles. We stayed at the apartments at the Temple and attended a session in the evening. It was a nice visit but I was ever so glad to leave L.A. (to many people.) We then drove to Elcentro, it is a Naval Airforce base and the V.A.s can stay there for quite resonable. Also they have all the privaleges while on base. We were able to go swimming and catch a few movies and have dinners in the mess hall which was very delicious. It was a fun experience. We played lots of games and laughed alot. Time to head for home and so we stayed a few nights in Las Vegas. Another busy city. We attended the Temple and then in the evening we went up town to see the sites. We seen the fountains and lots of strange people got in our five miles for the day and called it a night. Headed for home and wouldn't you know it we ran into a snow storm. yuck!!! So the best part of the trip was the sunshine and getting together with my sisters. It is a bond that I really cherish. So Thanks to all who went on the trip and had some good laughs with me it was great.

colter's buddies

Colter right now is the youngest grand child and it seems that the youngest gets the most attention. Sorry you big kids it was your turn at one time but we all have to grow up. Colter loves to build towers. Well let me rephrase this. Colter Loves to have pa and grandma build the towers and he crashes them down. I remember all my children loving to do this so I think it is fun to watch them anticipate the tower falling down. I think it is good for kids to build things and then see it come tumbling down just to prove that they can fix things when they get broken. Now that leads me to my next pic with Colters dad. Colter thinks his dad can fix anything. If a tractor brakes he says Daddy fix. Chad, you have big job ahead of you to teach this little guy so many things. I am so proud of the job you are doing so far. Colter adores you and he has you up on a very high pedestal. Keep up the good work and before you know it your next little guy will be following you and Colter around too. Love you guys.

STOP snowing

I am ready for spring so I got out the capris today flip flops and put them on. I decided to try to make it happen. (ha ha) It is really getting to me. I think part of it is I hate to see Jim have to go to work so much. He doesn't complain and I shouldn't either, but we can't make any plans ever because it might snow. Or we always have to watch the storms and he is really getting tired!!! I know that he loves his job and I do to because it has provided a living for our family for 40 years and I am grateful for that. But don't you think green is a pretty color? I am going on a little trip with my sisters in a few days and I hope to find some warmer weather. I do love the seasons and I don't want to not be here when it is winter I just wish it would be done soon. So here's to THINK GREEN

Jims Famous

This is an article that was published in a magazine that comes out once a month for all the employees of the State of Utah. Jim won an award for being an outstanding employee. He has won a lot of awards and I am very proud of him. I need to get organized and make a book of all his awards. I thought I would at least blog this one. I think he will receive some free tickets to a movie and a luncheon. I feel another Date night is in the making. Love you Jim and I guess it is okay that you Love your job so much too.

We have been working on our kitchen for quited some time and it is finally getting close to being done. We got the new granite and needed to put the new faucet on. It was quite a big job. we are not plumbers. But Jim and Chad had some good help and they got it figured out. Thanks Colter for helping Pa get this job done. You are the Best!!!

Date nights are great

I wanted to tell you about our fun Date night last Friday. We went with our friends Bobby & Lisa Richardson to a comedian concert. It was Jeff Foxworthy, it was so much fun we only decided that day to go and we were lucky to get the ATK suite so we were all alone on a really cool room with our own private bathroom and ice for our drinks and the best seats in the house. We have heard Jeff Foxworthy before on some of his Cd's but never seen him in person. I really like him as a comedian he only talks about things that happen in real life situations and he never swears or talks vulgar like some of the comedians do. I was so entertained. We laughed so hard our ribs hurt. It was the best medicine anyone could get. We have always had fun with Bobby & Lisa, but this night was excepitional. Thanks you 2 for a really fun night.
I have been very impressed with these friends they go on a date every week even if it is go to Wall-Mart, together. They have made a good impression on us we are trying to follow there example, and go on more dates. Way to go friends you are my weeks # 1 blog choice. I scanned the tickets and that was the first time I had ever done anything like that so now I know that I can try it again. Jeff Foxworthy is a really cool guy he was here in Utah for the Hunting expo. He donated the procedes of the night to the primary childrens hospital and to the wild life of Utah. I thought that was so cool!!!!! I must be a red neck fan!!!!!!!

ADORABLE GRANDKIDS !!!!!!!!!!

These are my 12 grand kids and I love them all to pieces. They each hold a special place in my heart and I would do anything for them. My oldest is Kyle, he is 18, graduated from High School, and a bit lost at the moment. He hasn't found a job out in the big world, but is trying to look each day. I know that he will be sucessful as soon as he can find his nitch. He is dating a darling gal, TeAnna Ramsdell, she has a little girl and they make a really cute couple. We love TeAnna and think she fits just great in our family. They have had there ups, and downs so we will have to see what happens. We are pulling for you TeAnna. Next is Kaden he is 17 a junior at B.R. and an awsome golfer. He is on the golf team and was the team captain last year. He has a job at the Belmont resort. He cleans the pool and in the summer works on the golf course. He loves his job and is a very good worker. He is his Mom's pride and joy. He is so kind and helpful. He is looking for a truck to buy and saving money to get it paid for too. Good luck Kaden, I know you will get the job done soon. Next I have Shaunie she is sweet 16 and is beautiful. She has changed her hair color since this pic so she is now brown, instead of blonde she looks good either way. I say try a few colors to see what you like the best. Grandma did that alot. Well then there is Shelby she will be 13 in May and she is a riot to be around. She has a quick witt and loves to tease. She has been involved in softball for 3 years and has learned alot. She loves the game and if she continues to work hard I think she will be very good. Keep at it Shelby, you are living your Grandma's dream.. I love softball too, and I would have loved to have had the opportunity that Shelby has had. You go Girl!!! Isaac is next in line and he is a Baseball star he has been clear to New York to play. He is very talented, and we love to watch him play. He is quite small but he makes up for his size in ability. You know I am the Grandma, but this is the real honest truth. Next is Mckinna, she has many talents also. She is tall like her mom. So I think her sport is Basketball, she is on a traveling team and is working hard to get better and better. She is taking private singing lessons, and I can't wait to hear her preform. Who knows maybe I will have an American Idol in the family. Mckinna has just turned 12 and becoming a young lady. Shaylie Debra is next and I had to add her middle name because you see she is named after me. I think that is so awesome to have someone special named after yourself. She loves the little kids. She is our little mother hen. All the kids love her too. She has the most adorable dimples. I love to see her smile. She plays softball also and I think is still playing the piano. Burkley is 10 and is very smart. She is a pleaser she wants to always make whom ever she is around happy. She loves to read and gets very good grades in school. She has a tender heart and loves everyone. Mick comes after her and he has just turned 8, he just got baptized and is a giant of a young man. He loves wrestling and anything to do with the farm. He is very talented and works hard. He has the most beautiful blue eyes. Abbie is next and she is very very shy. She is so special she is a tom boy she always tells me that she wishes she would have been a boy. She loves sports and can't wait to get bigger so she can play. She is the boss, if she is around the people she fills comfortable with. Colter is the last so far and he is so dang cute. We have so much fun with him. He loves his dad and he could spend 24 seven with him. It is so cute to see them two together. Colter loves to play with tracters and build towers and run. He is going to be a great big brother. that will make our grandkids a total of 13 in April when the new baby arrives. This is my pride and joy bunch and I think they are the best ever. If you ever want to hear anything about them just ask me and I will be glad to brag them up some more. Guys Grandma loves you THISSSSSSSSSSSSS MUCHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know what I mean.

quote for today

Life is Too Short Break the Rules

Forgive Quickly Kiss slowly Love Truely

LAUGH UNCONTROLLABLY!!!!!!

Never regret anything that made you smile

Life may not be the PARTY we hoped for

But while were here, we should DANCE!!!!!

I loved this. It is good advice. Now just getting us stubborn folks to follow these simply rules. I did try one thing tonight. To forgive quickly it felt pretty good. I walked in from my day of work and activity to find my sweet husband already home. I told him I had to take a meal to a family in the ward, so I got soup and there would be plenty for us also. He said take it all to them I don't want that. That really ticked me off. I hate to come up with stuff to fix anyway, and he is so picky. So now I was back to square one. I jumped all over him and he left saying don't worry I will fix myself somthing when I get home. I think I used that tone that he talks about not being very attractive. You know what I mean? Well a few minutes went by and I thought wow that is so lame. I quickly called him up and said I was sorry. It really didn't matter. It felt so much better he was very understanding and said, you know I don't like soup. Yea I did know that, and I should have remembered. So any way it was another good lesson to me to not get so upset on the first whimm........You would think after 40 years I would learn somthing. I guess I need 40 more to keep practicing.....

Super Bowl Fun

It isn't as super as it is cracked up to be. You watch the games all fall until the season is over and then the big day arrives and they create this big atmosphere about all the players and all the past games and all the comericals and all the who is and who isn't and how cares anyway. I just think it is funny. I can't believe how much is made about the super bowl. I like to go along with the idea of having a party. I always like to get together and have some fun. We had some family over and had a nice dinner and a lot of snacks. So the boys went down stairs to watch the game. The ladies stayed upstairs and played some card games. That is my idea of a fun time! I ate way to much junk and got all excited about who won our card game so all in all I think I got the same effect as the men do. I did try to sound like I cared about the football game asking everso often who was winning? So I guess our super bowl Sunday was a success!!I haven't posted for a few days so I am going to sum up the past few days in a short but brief paragraph.
I have to tell you we went to Vans Drive Inn for there first official opening, Friday night. Had a good cheese burger and some delicious onion Rings. They tasted great even if we had to wait quit a while. I wish them good luck and hope it works out to be a for sure thing. Sat. we had our grand son Mick baptized and it was wonderful. I was so proud of him. We had great support from the family and it turned out to be a beautiful day. I love to see the sun shine and it shined all day on Saturday. Happy Happy Day!!!!! We had the Coombs girls and that was a fun time they are so cute and helpful. We took them to church with us and I was so proud of them being so reverent and they are such pretty girls I loved showing them off. My newest Quote I found that I love is this ("THE ONLY WAY TO GET THROUGH LIFE IS TO LAUGH THROUGH IT. YOU EITHER LAUGH OR CRY AND I PREFER TO LAUGH. CRYING GIVES ME A HEADACHE.") THIS IS WRITTEN BY Marjorie Pay Hinckley I loved that cute little lady. I am still working on learning on pics maybe soon I will get enough courage to try again. (Let the good times roll.) Keep smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Gotta Love It !

Where do I begin to tell you about my amazing week I just had. First I was asked to look after Janiece's family while her and Scott went on there annual Denver trip. I was happy that they asked me. Shaunie is very capable of taking care of things but she had such a heavy week, at school that Janiece thought she might need a little extra help. So let me tell you about it.
It started off on Jan 19Th at about 3:00 run Shaunie to the dentist. Go to Janiece"s and start some super. Mick & Shaylie were swimming with cousins and so Shelby helped me. I wanted to make them feel special while I was with their family. They are all so good to me. I think I was the one that was treated like a queen instead of me doing much for them. You see there is Gage (there darling little dog), that loves Grandma. Every where I went he was right behind me protecting my every move. I do like that little dog, he doesn't bark only to let us know when someone is at the door. Your own personal doorbell. Then there was Mick that is a dynamite of a boy he keeps us all laughing and watching his crazy moves. He has a lot of energy and loves his sisters to death. Shaylie has an adorable giggle and dimples to go with it. She is always happy and giggling. Now Shelby, she is one fun gal to be around, she is so sharp with her witt. She comes up with the funniest things to say. You can't help but laugh your head off when ever you are around her. They say she has a temper, but this Grandma has never seen it. She was my second hand helper. She could have done the job just fine herself but, thanks Shelby for letting Grandma be there to help you guys. Then there is Shaunie she is very into being a top student and doing her best in her F.F.A. projects and so it was like she wasn't even there. She had to stay up late and stay after school so we didn't have her around to much. She turned 16 on the 21, and it was fun to fix her a special dinner and share with her her exciting day. She would have probablly rather been with her friends but she spent her night with us and we all loved it. All though we never did get her ,her birthday spankings. I guess she is going to have to get the tickle machine for that now. We kept very busy and the time just flew by. It was thur. before we knew it. We where all anxious for Janiece's return and so we kept in touch with her all day with texting her every move. Yes you heard it right I was even texting this week I had to learn quick because that is the way the kids get in touch with you and let you know what they need. Shelby needed an asprin one day Shaunie needed some papers signed and then, come get me I'm done. I thank the Newman family for there patience with me, but I am glad I learned how and I promise I will get faster. Well just to let you know of some of the High Lights of the week. Just picture a mattress 4 feet off the floor and huge logs all around the king size bed. We just didn't want to be apart so we decided to all sleep in Mom's bed. The kids got me a stool and then still had to pull me up. I have never seen a bed so high off the floor. We laughed and giggled and then I said, we have to get some sleep. They were so good to mind and so I sneaked out of the bed and hit the couch. I have still been having some trouble with my shoulder and I get up quite a few times a night so I knew I wouldn't be able to get back in without the help of the kids. That was a fun memory. There was Shaunie coming home after winning at her comp. with F.F.A. and seeing how glad she was that she had done so well and that it was over so she could get some needed rest. Way to go Shaunie, Grandma is so proud of you! Shelby is playing Basketball for the church team and at her game she got nailed with the ball she came home with a good looking goose egg. Sorry Shelby it looked really sore but sure looked funny when it happened. At the game Shaylie I think got thinking to much about her Mom coming home and so she curled up and layed her little head on my lap and just rested during the game. Thanks Shaylie for the cuttle moment. Then there was helping Mick with his homework, wow, that brought back some old memories. Way to go Mick you are getting so smart and It doesn't matter what you do you try to do your very best. That sums up a few of my feelings about my fun week with the Newman family. All I can say is You Gotta Love It! and I did!!! I will be glad to tend for you anytime, I Love my grandkids to pieces, and I think it is so important to keep up with there activities. I pray that I can always be there for them and be able to share in there lives. Janiece You and Scott have done and are still doing a terrific job with your family. Keep up the good work!!!

SNAP what has happened ?

I have not been myself for a few days, I have had some trouble with my shoulder. I tore my rotators muscle and so it has caused my arm to go numb and terrific pain. I think that is so crazy how it happened. I have been swim walking and using my arms like I am swimming. Then next morning I got up getting ready for work reached up to work on my hair and snap something happened. It seemed to get worse as the day went on. I couldn't even move my arm for two days and had to miss work. You know it is bad for me to miss work. I try to go no matter what. So I finally decided I had to take some action because it wasn't getting better on it's own. So I called the chiropractor and got an app. If they couldn't help then I will go to the medical Dr. next. My app. was at 3:00 Friday afternoon and then we were going to meet up with Bobby and Lisa to hit a movie. Well I headed down to Brigham by myself and was at 1100 S. exit. That is the worst, for getting on the road for the cars getting on the freeway. I was waiting my turn giving myself plenty enough room in front of me from the car ahead of me. I could see in my rear view mirror I could see a huge semi truck not slowing down very quickly. Easing off the brake I moved forward a bit, and snap it happened. He hit the back end of my car. Wow!!! I was just hit by a semi. I couldn't believe it. I pulled over and so did he. We got out of the car and he asked if I was all right? I said I guess, but what was you think? Why didn't you stop. He said his brake would not lock up as good as it should. Was that an excuse I had never heard of such a thing. He just wasn't paying attention. I could see that it hadn't done a lot of damage to my outfit. But it was my new car and I would have to get it fixed. I called the 911 and told them to send someone out. I think I told the operator that it was north bound instead of south bound. Oh well I was in sock right? He proceeded to tell me that he would loose his job if we had to report this. Could we just settle it with some money? He was offering me 500.00 then 1,00.00 did he have something to hide? I thought I better ask the officer what to do. As it turned out I never made it to my app. and I was still in pain. I settled up with the truck driver and He ended up not giving me any where near what he told me at first. I was just grateful that we had not gotten hurt. I don't know how much it will cost to get my car fixed but I will deal with this another day. I met up with my date and we ended up going to the movie. It was not the best for language but the story was good. I wish we could have movie makers realize that they don't have to talk that way to get the point across. I was able to get to the Chiropractor the next morning and I think he helped me quite a bit. We will see how the next few days go. I hate that I am falling apart. I am not looking forward to the next snap. I wanted to get a pic of the dent in the bumper to show you all how very lucky I was, it could have been terrible. To think that I had been hit by a semi. WOW!!!! Thank you Heavenly Father for watching over me..

Wild Wednesday !!!!

Well today is wed. and I have to admit that it is a little wild. I go to work, pick up Abbie, then go pick up the kids at school because it is early out on wed. Then rush home for an after school snack. Back in to town to take Burkley to her singing lessons and then run them all home afterwards. it is now 4:30 and Jim pulled in right after I did. I know the first thing he is going to say is whats for dinner? I feel like I haven't even thought about supper. Oh the life of a Grandma, ( you gotta love it-amd I do) wouldn't have it any other way. Any time I get to spend with the grandkids is time well spent in my book. So what is for supper? Any ideas? I work with food all day and I hate to come home and try to think up what to make. If somebody just had it all there I would make it. I think my brain is tired.

Fun Day with the girls

Today was a fun day with my sisters and a few friends. We had talked about getting together to play games once in a while. We grew up loving to play all kinds of games and Laughing and enjoying being together. Trying to bring back childhood memories. It was my turn to have them at my home so we each invited a quest and that made 6. We are playing a game called (hand and foot). It is a fairly easy game after you learn the rules and it really keeps you on your toes to make sure you don't mess up. I tried to fix a nutritious snack and it all turned out to be a blast. The only bad thing was that the time went by to fast. So I say lets do it again. So Thanks girls for a fun after noon. Dawn, Rosie Yoder, D-Ann, Sara, Janiece, and me. What a lot of fun!!!!

The end of a season

Today was bitter sweet.....
I was released from my church calling today and it was a bit emotional. I didn't think I would feel so bad about leaving, but it is hard to not be in the loop. I feel like I have lost a best friend. I know that change is good and defenitly was time for a change and we all agreed. But when it came down to really being done it hurt. I do love those sisters. I have grown to love the ladies that I worked with and appreciate the friendships that we made with each other. I have served in the Relief Society for quite a few years, first I was a teacher for three years and then in the presidency. I will get over this but I truely feel bad that it has ended. I loved to go visit the sisters in the ward and felt that we didn't get enough of that in. It will be an awesome new presidency, and I will have to serve somewhere else. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have had and thank all those who helped us in our calling. So to Melanie, Mailee, and Lisa, I Love you guys to pieces and thank you for your love and acceptness to me. I'm going to miss ya......

JAMIE SUE MOM LOVES YOU

I just got back from witnessing an angel doing her tricks. W have our mother Bonnie in the nursing home, and it is very depressing to say the least for her. she tries to tolerate it but gets down so easy. Jamie had made arrangements with the hair dresser at the place to see if she could use the shop to do grandma's hair. The lady said sure so Jamie told grandma lets go do your hair. She was delighted. I showed up just as they were going in the shop and so I helped a little get her figure out how to get the job done. We had to put her in her wheel chair and hol the chair by hand while she washed it. You should of heard her oww and aww ( that feels so good Jamie you have magic fingers) is what she said. It just made me so proud of Jamie to take time out of her busy life and give to her grandma. A great Big THANK YOU to you Jamie. She also goes every thursday night and helps grandma get ready for bed. I think grandma could do it by herself but she loves the company. So this is my little angel for the day. I Love you Jamie and am so proud of you I pray for you everyday and want the very best for you, you desever to be treated like a queen, because you truely are one.

I wanted to talk about the pic this was taken in N.Y. when we went there in Aug. of 2008 with Jamie's son Isaac's baseball team. We were shopping in cooperstown and found a Keybank so I had to take her pic to remind the girls that she works with, that she was thinking about them. (not) Any way. she is a bank teller and every where I go I get good reports of what a great job you are doing. They love you at the bank and we are so proud of you too. Keep up the good work and remember we LOVE YOU TONS!!

I guess this day is dedicated to my oldest and adorable daughter JAMIE...............

My oldest cutey

The water is great

Well I made it this morning to the pool. It was so great, it felt good to get moving and when you are in the water you feel like you aren't as big as you really are. I walk most of the time because I can't swim, and I use my arms like I am swimming so I think it was a good work out. I went to watch Burkley play basketball and then to watch Kaden too. I wish they weren't at the same time. So I only got 1/2 of one and 1/2 of the other. They are so awesome to watch. Oh I'm talking about my grandkids they all do such a good job at what ever they are doing. I love to see the hustle in them. Way to go kids, your Grandma Loves you TONS!!!

T.G.I.F.

Thank goodness it's friday. It has been a rough week getting back to the work force after having 18 days vacation. I think I am getting old. I need to get some rest. No pic's today we need to call the computer man and get a few repairs. Went to Logan after work and needed to pick up a few things at Wally World. I hate that place it is always so croweded and you can't even think about what you needed. I don't know where all the people come from. We took Abbie and Isaac with us Grandpa took Isaac and I kept Abbie. I had a perfect little angel, she puts up with alot for having to hang around grandma. Well I waited in line to drop Jim Rx off at the drop off, then had to kill 20 min. so we checked out the 75% off christmas stuff. wasn't in the mood to get christmas just got all mine put away and hardly had room for all I had which wasn't much. Then go back to the line to wait to pick up. I swear you pay for things more with your time that you have to put in. Come home fix dinner and was going to go swim walking with Janiece. It got to be an hour after I was supposed to be there, and I decided to bag it. There I go making excuses for not getting in my exercise. I guess you could say I am feeling like I have no time for myself. I have got to make some changes somewhere. I think I am a little grumpy so hope tomorrow is a better day......

Memories of my mom

This is a picture of my dear sweet little MOM. She passed away in July of this year and I miss her alot. I guess I should say she has been gone for quite a few years. She had alzhimers, so The real Mom wasn't there. But we were so very lucky that she was so pleasant and kind up to the very end. Even though she couldn't remember 2 seconds after she told us somthing. She could tell us stories about her past when she was a little girl. This picture was taken in the Bear River Valley Nursing Home she spent her last years at this home. We are so grateful that she was able to return home to her Heavenly Father, and be with the Loved ones that have gone before her. Mom loved the color purple. As you can see she is wearing purple. It was fun to buy her things while she was in the home. Her last Christmas we got her a little tree and I found purple decorations and she loved it. She used to do her own shopping and so it was like we had a chance to to her mom in return for all she had done for us. Mom was a frugal person and never wanted to waste anything, if she couldn't eat all her food she would take it wrapped in a napkin and take it back to her room. She was quick with her witt and everyone loved to be around her. Her hands were always busy she kept crocheting up to the very end. Sometimes we weren't sure what she was making but she always wanted to give you somthing and if she gave us what she had been crocheting we would just take it home un do it and bring the yarn back to her in a few days. Sorry mom, but it was good therapy for your hands to stay busy. I Loved my MOM to pieces and was so proud of the example she had showed me through out her life. Many people have told me of the many acts of kindness that she had done for them through out her life. (Mom I want to grow up and be just like you) Love you Tons- miss you and yet so glad you are where you are now. FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER!!!!!
Hi there to all you blogger's and blogg looker's I have been at this for two days and can't believe how it gets into your system. I couldn't wait to get home to get my next day written about. Is this called addiction. I don't think I am that bad yet. I did a great thing yesterday, Jim wanted to clean up some snow out side, so I couldn't see him doing all that shoveling. He had the axe and broke up the ice and I shoveled the ice on to the lawn. Dumb thing to do when you don't do stuff like that every day it really hurts the next day. So I am paying for my actions. I was only trying to help Jim. What a nice wife I am. Look out Jim, I might be a bear tonight. I hate to be in pain. I enjoy watching Oprah and she has confessed that she fell off the wagon. Gained a bunch of weight and now she is going to get busy and get working on this problem. Well I am hear to tell you I fell off the wagon and I hate the way I feel. I need to get busy and get back on the exercise schedule. I know I feel alot better when I do this so I am going to try to get more exercixe, eat more healthier, and don't make any more candy. Those carmels at Christmas became addicting. Sugar is my weakness. I have joined a group of people that are calling it the biggest loosers we are going to work on it until memorial day. We just weighed in and then we will weigh at the end to see who gets the pot. I don't think I will have a chance because I can't loose weigt very good, but at least I have somthing to keep me thinking about it. So good luck to all you loosers. I hope we all get in better shape.
Hey did you know where Nacho Cheese came from? A Spanish guy went into a Blackmans Cafe, and ordered some chips and cheese. He then went running out. I Black man went running to the door to catch him, yelled at the Mexican and said thats Nacho Cheese - Thats Nacho Cheese. So that is where Nacho Cheese came from. Ha Ha Thanks Jim for the joke. Luv ya

Thanks for the encouragement, I guess I will keep trying. I don't know how to put pic's on yet so that will have to be another day. I think this will be good for my journaling so if it is boring to you of well, it's for my posterity. When I get old and die they can read my blogg. Today at work we had a crazy day I thought everything was going okay and one of the ladies come to me and say what am I going to do the chicken isn't done and the oven shut off by itself so I said just be calm we can hurry and get it up to temp. by putting it in another oven. turn it up so it can hurry. I am so glad that I try to stay calm when things come up like that. It turned out okay, it is always a worry when you are in charge of food. The temps are so important. Then we had one of the ladies get a call from her daughter that she needed her to come quick. When it is a grandchild that is # 1 in my book so she needs the next 2 days off. Good luck Carole I hope everything turns out okay for Lucas, he will be in our prayers. I already had one other lady needing a day off and so we need subs. This is a good job but not to easy to get on full time. The district has made it so no one could get any more than 4 hours and that isn't as appealing as full time. But if anyone needs part time let me know I am in need of subs. So hears to the next two days of work with dealing with subs.

Coombs'Cartoons

This is going to be funny just like a cartoon. I am trying to show off my talents. Which you will soon see how much I have, just remember if you want a laugh just blog on to me and you can get a good chuckle!

I am a wife, a mother, a sister and a great Grandma! I have 4 great kids and I have 11 grandkids with one more on the way in April. I have been married to one guy for 40 years, can you believe it? I married young so It has gone by fast. I married Jim in 1969 and we have had alot of fun in those 40 years. I don't want to go through all the fun but. just so you know I have been married to a guy that absolutely LOVES his job so I have had to be very patient with his first love. I think you get the drift. It is especially fun in the winter when he has to be on call 24 -7 when it snows he goes. I am very proud of his dedication to his work and caring for the public. He tries so hard to keep the roads safe. I think I will keep him for another 40. who knows maybe we will go on a trip or cruise when he retires so I will have something to really write about.
I am a lunch lady at the Bear River Middle School. I have been this for 24 years and I love it. I have been able to have a job that gives me alot of time off and the whole summer to be able to go watch my grandkids preform in there talents. I have worked up to being the unit manager for the school and it is quite a bit of responsibity. I guess it isn't so bad, I at least get to tell the ladies what to do and oh yes, I do like to boss people around. Is this a talent?
I have had a great desire to learn more on the computer and I fell very unsure of myself so I keep asking my daughter to help give me lessons and she just says to just try different things and you will figure it out. I am very scared to do this so it is going to be hard.
I have been serving in the Relief Society as the 1st councillor in the presidency. I love it but I have been in there for 3 years and I think we are going to get a change real soon. Jim is a sunday school teacher and he is doing a great job the kids really like him. He always has treats for them and that always helps them like you better. (What ever it takes)
We as a family are trying to have family Home evening every week at our home and have all the kids come to it. It is amazing how much the kids love it. I am so proud of my grandkids and there testimonies. I can honestly say that this has helps us as grandparents to increase our testimonies also. I love having a project going on if it isn't tearing a wall down it might be tearing a set of cupboards out I think my ideas are great! Jim doesn't always agree until we are done then he likes them.
Well this is a story that is never ending so I will try to create this and see what happens. Like I said hang on for a crazy ride!!
